Eagle Eye
And Thus They Battled The Raging Sea...
By Greeker on Wed, 21/10/2009 - 2:22amI was out at sea last week for a dhow sailing race. Although the contestants sailed the wind, they had on the most advanced life jackets for safety at all times.
Seeing them fight the slightly choppy sea, I pondered on how an earlier generation built this land by diving to its very depths.
The power of the visual was awesome... and my Big Chief Eagle Eye blinked once to capture it for eternity.
Flames Of Green... In Antiquity.
By Greeker on Wed, 23/09/2009 - 2:51pmThe Museum of Islamic Arts lay before me, resplendant in a faint rainbow, made by water particles from waves which lapped violently against the cemented walkways.
I parked my car and walked, through a garden desperately seeking to burst into full bloom. The plant wall undulated in a light breeze, taking on the appearance of a tongue of live green flame.
And then, through a crack in the flames of green, I saw the mystical abode of a thousand artefacts from eras gone by.
'Deep Blue' Salute to QL…
By Greeker on Sat, 27/06/2009 - 1:01pmBig Chief Eagle Eye, my Canon EOS 400D camera, came into my life on an unexpected note. A miscommunication with my cousin brother led BCEE to my doorstep. Despite my not-so-happy financial situation at the time, I knew that it wouldn’t be a wasted investment. I’m glad I’m right.
The first few days, I and BCEE went crazy around each other. We travelled to places I didn’t know existed in Qatar and to places I’d promised myself I’d go only once I got a good partner (of the camera kind) with me. The fish market fell in the second category.
