Magical things happen once upon a blue Moon. And this Thursday we get a chance to find out just what those magical things as we watch the rare lunar event coincide with all the beautiful fireworks of New Year's Eve.

Blue Moon is the term applied to the second full Moon in a calendar month. It's an event that occurs roughly every two and a half years. This Thursday's blue Moon is far rarer than that though, because it's happening right on New Year's Eve—a coincidence that happens only about once in every twenty years.

LOS ANGELES — Once in a blue moon there is one on New Year's Eve.

Revelers ringing in 2010 will be treated to a so-called blue moon. According to popular definition, a blue moon is the second full moon in a month. But don't expect it to be blue — the name has nothing to do with the color of our closest celestial neighbor.

A full moon occurred on Dec. 2. It will appear again on Thursday in time for the New Year's countdown.

"If you're in Times Square, you'll see the full moon right above you. It's going to be that brilliant," said Jack Horkheimer, director emeritus of the Miami Space Transit Planetarium and host of a weekly astronomy TV show.

New Year's Eve is an excuse for inflated door charges and hangovers. Armed with my laptop, I am staying at home and going to a virtual party instead.. So why don't you join me..

I don't want to make you jealous, but I will be spending New Year's Eve here at QL. What's more, it isn't going to cost me a penny - or a cent - and I am going to have a prime view of the fireworks, without having to endure the crush of an over-excited crowd.

It gets better. I don't even have to make a long drive or get stuck in traffic, because QL is coming to me. Yes, I will be celebrating online.

The initial reaction of my friends could be: "Urggh, how sad. Only complete losers and perverts would spend New Year's Eve at home on their computers."

Am sure this must have been a tried out topic on every smokers list and a definite, TO DO list on the New Year's eve.

I have thought of a million ways to quit smoking right from.. No Carrying Smokes, Not buying them.. Chewing gums.. Supplements, just all sort of things..

The Harder I think of Quitting the more Desperate It attracts me..

Obviously Want to quit in for better health..Even if I am waiting to Die Another Day!

So does any one have some kind of idea on how to QUIT Smoking... Or to Enjoy smoking...Whats the call!
