In town for Eid? Want to meet other expat mums?

Join us for a playgroup!

The playgroup will be held at my house in West Bay from 9-12. (PM me for details & directions.)

You need not bring anything, though if don't you mind bringing some toys for the older preschoolers that would be great.

Assuming the weather is nice, we'll open the garden doors so the kids can play in the grassy yard. Be sure to bring sunscreen and a hat just in case your child wants to venture outside.

We have a very large paved patio as well, so if you have riding toys feel free to bring them.

You are more than welcome to invite friends :)

I'll have light snacks, tea and coffee. . .and will make brownies :)

Come and pick up some secondhand book bargains, and much more, at BOOKS etc on Friday 5th December from 12-5pm.

BOOKS etc is a great opportunity to restock your bookshelves for 2009 and pick up some last minute christmas presents.

All books will cost 10 riyals with proceeds going to a Guatemalan charity. Other bargains will include secondhand clothes and toys, and handmade jewellery and greetings cards.

Directions to Cascades East

On the Salwa Road go through Ramada Junction, and over the flyover to Decoration round-about. Take a left at Decoration round-about.

Go straight through the next round-about. This road is under major construction - watch out for the raised drains scattered along the road. Turn right at a temporary round-about made of red and white plastic barriers. Take the 2nd road on the right.

Go straight along this road until you see Cascades East Compound on your left (it is the first and only compound on the left-hand side of the road). Park inside the compound unless it's full in which case you'll have to park on the road and walk in.

To get to the clubhouse you need to go to the childrens play area which is at one end of the compound with a pointed roof. Walk on either side of the play area and then go down the pathway between the houses to other side of compound. You will see a tennis court. Walk beside the tennis court and go down the steps into the clubhouse.
