I had what’s called a meltdown after posting my last topic. I couldn’t believe how much hate and anger some people could carry in their hearts, I have received really horrible emails, comments, notes, death threats, party invitations, wedding proposals, and I was accused of being part of FIFA BID conspiracy (WTF). When the truth was that I was just a Qatari girl who decided to talk about her problems.
I have learned that the worst thing that could happen to a person is denying his existence!! , I felt bad, scared and lonely! After thousand tries of deleting the post I gave up, and I decided to just forget about it and stay away and stay positive.

The Tribeca experience: being a volunteer

Let's just say that rather than getting myself into meeting the famous actors and actresses or even to watch any or all of the films being screened, this wasn't the experience that I got in this previous Doha Tribeca Film Festival highlight events.
But rather the experience as one of the volunteers working to make the event happen.
So we had our all-out meeting on the Aspire Park and saw all of us wonderful people of mixed races who'd like to participate and dedicate their time to make it happen. Here we were now assigned to our preferred departments. We claimed our shirt and badge two days 'fore the start of the event. And on with the show.
Next Coffee Morning - Villaggio Columbus Cafe - Thursday October 15

Thank you to all who have turned up at the Coffee Morning last Tuesday. It sure was relaxing and nice to meet newbies and see 'oldies' again! I will download the photos from my camara this weekend and upload them onto this website :)
Due to many requests I am hereby organizing the next coffee morning for sooner than in 1 months time. It will be on the 15th October (Thursday) in Columbus Cafe, Villaggio, next to Virgin Megastores, starting 9,30 a.m.

just want to ask if anybody knows what kind of (big) trees those in Aspire Park. I initially thought it's a baobab but might be wrong.

I've checked the Mowasalat website and the number 57 bus seems to go to the Bus Station according to the map, but to City Center mall according to the timetable.
Does anyone know if this bus does go all the way to City Center or just to the Bus Station.....?
Also, does it go via Um Al Jamajim street (parallel to Al Furosiya) behind Aspire Park...?
Boot Camp Qatar

Boot Camp Qatar started yesterday and it was a massive success.
A fun group of people keen to get fit and active met in Aspire Park (behind Hyatt plaza) for a group fitness programme in the open air.
It was a lot of fun and an excellent work out for all.
Would be great if more people joined up to get fit in this fun way.
