Pakistan suffers another bombing [*Pictures*]
By johny_boiei on Fri, 30/10/2009 - 1:03amPESHAWAR, Pakistan - A car bomb struck a busy market in northwestern Pakistan on Wednesday, killing at least 100 people -- mostly women and children -- as visiting Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton pledged U.S. support for Islamabad's campaign against Islamic militants. More than 200 people were wounded in the blast in the main northwestern city of Peshawar, the deadliest in a surge of attacks by suspected insurgents this month. The government blamed militants seeking to avenge an army offensive launched this month against al-Qaida and Taliban in their stronghold close to the Afghan border.
Iranian-American academic gets 12y in unrest
By neyo1985 on Wed, 21/10/2009 - 12:07pmTEHRAN, Iran – Iran ignored appeals by Hillary Rodham Clinton and even rock star Sting and sentenced an Iranian-American academic to 12 years in prison Tuesday for his alleged role in anti-government protests after the country's disputed presidential election.
The sentence for Kian Tajbakhsh was the longest prison term yet in a mass trial of more than 100 opposition figures, activists and journalists in the postelection turmoil.
At the same time, Iran allowed another defendant to leave the country — Canadian-Iranian Maziar Bahari, a Newsweek journalist arrested in the same crackdown who had been freed on bail over the weekend.
Clinton Connects With India’s Billionaires
By LifeisBeautiful on Sun, 19/07/2009 - 9:01amMUMBAI, India — India’s booming economy has turned some business executives into rock stars. So it was perhaps not surprising that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton — a celebrity in her own right — would stop first in India’s commercial capital for a power breakfast with bankers and billionaires.

Her decision to stay at Taj was commendable IMO. She took a bold step in showing the mid finger to the terrorists both within and outside India.
