"Global Warming" ..Glacier scientist's lies..
By jackmohan2007 on Thu, 18/02/2010 - 5:14pm"Global Warming" ..Glacier scientist's lies..

The scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 last night admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders.
Dr Murari Lal also said he was well aware the statement, in the 2007 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), did not rest on peer-reviewed scientific research.

More INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT India
The name `India’ is derived from the River Indus, the valleys around which were the home of the early settlers. The Aryan worshippers referred to the river Indus as the Sindhu.
The Persian invaders converted it into Hindu. The name `Hindustan’ combines Sindhu and Hindu and thus refers to the land of the Hindus.
The number system was invented by India. Aryabhatta was the scientist who invented the digit zero.
Sanskrit is considered as the mother of all higher languages. This is because it is the most precise, and therefore suitable language for computer software. ( a report in Forbes magazine, July 1987 ).
Climbing in Nepal
By highway66 on Tue, 06/10/2009 - 2:15pmTo stand on top of a Himalayan peak, and feel the sense of achievement of having scaled a mountain much bigger than anything in the Alps is the 'ultimate dream' for many trekkers, and indeed climbers. In 1978 the Nepal Mountaineering Association designated a number of peaks throughout Nepal as 'trekking peaks', which could be attempted with a minimum of bureaucracy or formality, and this has allowed the 'dream' of a Himalayan ascent to be realised for many people. A more appropriate title, however, would be non-expedition peaks as none can be 'trekked up', and some present serious mountaineering challenges. We detail two of the most popular of these peaks - the highest, Mera Peak, and one of the most stunning, Island Peak.
I own Seal Point Himalayan Persian cat, male. Are there any owners of female Himalayans in Qatar that are looking for sparring their cats?

Nano goes for a test drive:
By jackmohan2007 on Wed, 21/01/2009 - 5:57pmNano goes for a test drive:

People in the hilly town of Gopeshwar in Chamoli district were recently surprised to see the Nano, Tata Motors' controversial Rs 100,000 car, (QR7,700)parked on a roadside.
The Nano had travelled all the way from Pantnagar, crossing the tough, serpentine roads of Uttarakhand, to reach picturesque Gopeshwar nestling in the Garhwal Himalayan region.
Tata Nanao: The world's cheapest car
This was one of the Nano's toughest tests, being conducted by engineers of Tata Motors in the rugged Himalayan region.
Significantly, the mileage of the small car is being projected at 17-20 km per litre in the hills .
