Going to US? Show your naughty bits!

New rules requiring full body scans that will see through your clothes (to detect for hidden explosives) will likely become mandatory for all travelers to the USA.

Amsterdam has already made the decision to start this procedure with all passengers on all flights to the US.

Do you think this will deter people from traveling to US? Or is this simply the way the future is heading (and soon other countries will follow suit)?

DETROIT – A Northwest Airlines passenger from Nigeria, who said he was acting on al-Qaida's instructions, set off an explosive device Friday in a failed terrorist attack on the plane as it was landing in Detroit, federal officials said.

Flight 253 with 278 passengers aboard was 20 minutes from the airport when it sounded like a firecracker had exploded, witnesses said. One passenger jumped over others and tried to subdue the man. Shortly afterward, the suspect was taken to a front row seat with his pants cut off and his legs burned.

Saplings from Anne Frank chestnut Tree

Saplings from a tree that brought comfort to Anne Frank as she hid with her family from the Nazis are being planted in an Amsterdam park amid concerns about the health of the 150-year-old white horse chestnut.

The Jewish teenager mentioned the tree in the diary she wrote while cooped up in a concealed attic for more than two years during the Second World War.

The diary became a worldwide best-seller after her death in a concentration camp in 1945.

“This tree has a special meaning for Amsterdam but also for people all over the world,” said city councillor Marijke Vos, before planting of 150 saplings given to the park on Friday.

“It is a symbol of hope and freedom, and with these saplings we can share that hope and freedom with the whole world,” the official added.

London's Heathrow tops list of worst airports

Sydney : Oct, 24

London's Heathrow Airport has been voted the worst airport in the world for the second year running in a poll of 14,500 frequent fliers while Singapore's Changi was again ranked as the best.

The survey participants, all member of airport lounge programme Priority Pass, rated Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport as the world's second worst with Los Angeles International Airport coming third despite a recent $1 billion overhaul.

"A result that suggests anyone wanting a romantic break in Paris should avoid the Heathrow-Charles de Gaulle route if they don't want to kill the mood," said a statement from Priority Pass.

"Sadly, Heathrow remains firmly entrenched as the airport the world loves to hate," added Jonathan French, head of brand for Priority Pass.

How to apply Schengen Visa and British Visa for tourist..

Hi..

I plan to spend my holiday in the last week of December 2009 to London, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam. I will fly from Doha to London but layover for one day in Istanbul, then I will travel to Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam by Train. From Amsterdam I will go directly to Jakarta transit for few hour in Singapore. Can anyone advise me how to apply for Schengen visa and British visa? What is the requirement? Should I show them my tickets and hotel booking when I apply or I can book my Tickets and hotel later after my visas has approved (Because the ticket will be only Doha-Istanbul-London and Amsterdam-Singapore-Jakarta)? How much the cost of applying this visas and how long the process will takes? FYI, I'm an Indonesian nationality. Appreciate your kindly advise.. Thank you..

Just wait a couple of seconds and watch what happens.

DON'T click on any of the items in the picture - just wait. and sound on..

This company has a sense of humor and a great computer programmer, who has too much time on his hands.

Dopey pair end up in Sydney - Canada!

When Joannes Rutten stepped off a plane with his grandson at Sydney airport after a long flight from Amsterdam, he thought they were in for the Australian holiday of a lifetime.

But the Dutch pair were shocked to learn that they had just touched down in the rather chillier climate of Sydney, Canada - more than 17,000 miles away from their intended destination.

Mr Rutten and his grandson Nick, 15, booked what they believed was a trip Down Under through a Dutch travel agency.

They flew into Nova Scotia in the east of the country from Amsterdam's Schiphol airport with Air Canada on Saturday.

They even managed to board to a connecting flight to the wrong Sydney at Halifax on the east coast of Canada without realising their mistake.

Spyker In Villagio

Today i visit Villagio and saw this amazing Machine

Spyker was a Dutch car manufacturer, started in 1880 by coachbuilders Jacobus and Hendrik-Jan Spijker, but to be able to market the brand better in foreign countries, in 1903 the 'ij' was changed into 'y'. They were originally based in Hilversum but in 1898 moved to Trompenburg, Amsterdam.
