What a disappointment!

Yesterday night at around 8:30, there was a match between Rompe Redes F.C. and the College of the North Atlantic in the latter's campus. The fact that the CoNA's team was hosting a football match seemed like a wonderful moment since it was providing a medium to show everyone that football (soccer to others) was still a gentleman's game.

What a disappointment!

College of the north atlantic ignorance

College of the north atlantic has reached a new low. A lot of instructors teaching there are showing signs of flu (runny nose, sneezing etc) but still continue to take classes. Without any protection no less. Hundreds of students have to closely interact with this instructors on a daily basis.

Some students have also been diagnosed with swine flu but still the college refuses to close down at least till the vaccination is distributed.

The college does not have any regard for the safety and well-being of the 2000 or so local and expat students in the college since the biggest measure they have taken is putting hand sanitizers all over the place. Ignorance of the highest degree.

Can anyone recommend an Arabic teacher (female) for kids??

We need an Arabic teacher, female preferably, that can come home (we are located in Jelaiah, near College of North Atlantic) to teach arabic to 2 children. Can you recommend one whose experience you know?? I can't find any advertising in the classifieds.

Thank you!

How to Approach Cyber Safety

"Close your eyes. Put yourself in the shoes of a parent and ask yourself: What comes to mind when you hear the word "cyber safety"? Now, open your eyes and resume your teacher role and instead of testing your students, take a quiz by yourself."

With this introduction, Mala Bower, Executive Director, Cybersmart, started her engaging lecture on the timely issue of Cyber safety, during a recent ICT in Education Conference, held by ictQATAR and College of North Atlantic (CNA-Q). Attendees were predominantly teachers from across Qatar and Bower challenging them to explore how cyber security should be handled with children. Should it be taught as a way to: (A) protect them from dangers online? or (B) ensure a fun and safe online experience for them?
