Commercial Bank

I bought a 1 Room apartment /-a-t-/ Pearl / Porto Arabia in California Tower around 2 years ago from Era Gulf Realestate (One of the worst ever Realestate Office),through commercial bank of Qatar with 10% Deposit, and 90% installment, first payment on the receiving day.... and I was supposed to receive it February 2009, unfortunately, as all the Pearl project was delayed, I was one of the unlucky ones as well to be informed that I'm gonna receive it in May 2010...and starting from February 2009 I started paying 7000 riyals interest to Commercial Bank...

Anyway 2 month ago, UDC called me and said they wanna meet me regarding the apartment. When I met them, it turned that UDC decided to take over California Tower project as the original developer from Kuwait was bankrupted...

Anyone happen to know? Any charges for a credit card or ATM card (to have them)?

Some Emergency I used Commercial Bank ATM. The Screen Showing Message that "insert Card". After I Insert No any action & My Card Not Come Out. Not Ask pin no also.

My Card only VISA Electron. I called Commercial Bank Help Desk. But No one Tell me What I have to do.

One Told Me need to Go for Main Branch.
One Told Me I can not do anything from Commercial Bank. I have to Go for My bank outside Qatar.

One Told Me they are Reviewing My Request.

After 6 hours I check this ATM machine Again. But Still not working think my Card still Inside.

After some time I realize the People Here Sleep & EAT only.

Well, I have been woken in the middle of the night by SMS from HSBC for the last time.

I am a premier customer of HSBC and have been infuriated by receiving a text message on my mobile for any transaction on my account. I have messages in the middle of the night waking me up, muliple text messages whilst at work informing me of my wifes shopping spree and a text message myself in in real time anytime I take some money out or buy something.

WHO NEEDS THIS SERVICE??

Not only is it invasive, it is extremely disruptive to work and home life. I have fruitlessly attempted to have the service cancelled with HSBC but this has proved impossible - SMS is essential apparently under QCB guidelines.

I really dont know if this is the right place to post this, but to cut a long story short. I got here a few days ago I am a Lebanese System Administrator, I got myself an appartment near the old airport and my work is near Commercial Bank/Ministry of Labor.

I can't rent a car now because as it seems I need to get my Lebanese license converted to a Qatari license and to do that I need to pass the exam. And to do the exam I need to get my permanent residency.

So until I get it I need a way that is affordable to get from and to my work.

I was advised to look for a private driver who does drive me everyday.

One thing to add is that I do have an International Drivers's License

Any suggestions ? Corrections ?
