Two Arabs from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are going to travel to the end of the earth on a mission to help raise awareness in their communities about climate change, and the importance of protecting our environment.
Abdulla Al-Misnad of Qatar and Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi of the UAE will join 2041’s ‘Inspire Antarctica Expedition’ from 5th to 18th of March, which will educate participants about global warming, conservation, and Antarctica’s fragile ecosystem. The two Arabs will join a team of 70 people from 28 different countries, who will be exploring the world’s most remote continent.

Mudawanat: All About Blogging, an event being hosted by the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR) on Saturday, December 12, 2009, will be broadcast live online, allowing people across the country and the Arab world to hear from the regional and international experts on blogging. Mudawanat is being held at the Sharq Village & Spa and will have workshops on blogging in the afternoon for attendees. The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. ictQATAR is encouraging people in Qatar and the Arab world to take to the blog-waves. ictQATAR is hosting Mudawanat: All About Blogging, on Saturday, December 12, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at the Sharq Village & Spa. The event will feature international and regional blogging experts, as well as interactive workshops.

"Blogging is a tremendous way for people to share their thoughts and engage in society, whether they want to talk about sports, women's rights, business trends or technology," said Howaida Nadim, ictQATAR's Communications Director. "Through Mudawanat we are hoping to energize a new generation of bloggers and show why blogs are an incredibly effective way to communicate - for individuals, businesses, governments and not-for-profit organizations alike."

The year 2008 was marked by momentum on many fronts for ictQATAR, the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology. I usually find it more convenient and fun to stay connected to all the social media sites I am subscribed to using my iPhone. I can chat, post comments and follow people on facebook. iPhone is no doubt the leading platform for next generation of mobile applications, social media, mobile gaming and entertainment. I think it could be a potential move for Qatar Living and a leading technological edge that QL can offer to its members which no other local site has done so far.
