It's official! Fox STAR Studios, 20th Century Fox International and Fox Searchlight Pictures have announced that MY NAME IS KHAN, the highly anticipated film from director Karan Johar and starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, will open in theaters in India and over 40 countries including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East on Valentine's Day weekend [February 12, 2010]. Other remaining territories will release in early spring/summer 2010.

Shahrukh Khan (born November 2, 1965), sometimes credited as Shah Rukh Khan, is an Indian actor and a prominent Bollywood figure, as well as a film producer and television host.

Khan began his career appearing in several television serials in the late 1980s. He made his film debut in Deewana (1992). Since then, he has been part of numerous commercially successful films and has earned critical acclaim for many of his performances. During his years in the Indian film industry, Khan has won thirteen Filmfare Awards, seven of which are in the Best Actor category.

How else do you explain a possible meeting between Oscar-winning film-maker Danny Boyle and Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan? Together, the duo will be attending the Doha 21st Century Leaders Award. Earlier, it was reported that SRK has been approached for Bombay Velvet, a film that was supposed to be directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Danny Boyle. Though there’s no official announcement on that front, the actor and the film-maker will be at their social best at the event.

After Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was detained at Newark airport for a security check, many others like Zayed Khan and Irrfan Khan have come out with the ordeals they faced in the US because of their last names.

"Dubai: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan was detained and questioned for two hours at the Newark airport, according to a newspaper report on Saturday.

Niloufer Qureshi, Shah Rukh’s manager, told IANS that the actor was stopped at the airport after immigration officials saw the name “Khan” in his name.

Shah Rukh was heading to Chicago to attend an event marking India’s Independence Day.

"He was detained because his surname is Khan. He was kept until officials from the Indian embassy intervened. Now he has been released," Qureshi said"
