The spade ultimatum!
By Scarecrow on Thu, 03/09/2009 - 1:26amI earlier messaged in the forum about Qatar's Talal Mansour calling a spade a spade. He was talking about Qatar's import of Kenyan long distance athletes. Read about it here.
The same magazine whose link I posted has now done a followup story. Qatar has given an ultimatum to its foreign athletes to perform or get out. Sensational stuff. I hope they now start taking running for Qatar more 'seriously'.
Here's the story and the link.
FINAL CALL!
The Qatar Association of Athletics Federation issues ultimatums to the naturalised athletes to prove themselves or give way to promising local talents, writes Aju George Chris.

Finally someone calls a spade a spade!
By Scarecrow on Sat, 29/08/2009 - 12:26pmYay. Finally someone calls a spade a spade. For years, people knew that Qatar used to buy African athletes. Seems all are not happy with it. Talal Mansoor, one of the greatest athletes this country has produced, has lashed out at the qatar athletics association.
Check some of his statements.
The legendary athlete said any sensible person would have realised that Kenyan-born Nicholas Kemboi was not running the 10,000M at the World Championship in Berlin last week for his adopted country Qatar, but was a pacemaker for his former Kenyan team-mates.
"Let anybody challenge me on this. I can prove this with video evidence," said Talal.
"Ever since the QAAF started ignoring home-grown talent and opted for 'readymade' athletes, Qatar's downslide started," he added.
