By ict QATAR on Mon, 02/11/2009 - 12:57pmThe year 2008 was marked by momentum on many fronts for ictQATAR, the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology. More parents are involved in their children’s day-to-day educational progress with the help of technology and business leaders are boosting revenue and performance. More than 300 online services can be accessed anytime, anywhere through Qatar’s online government portal Hukoomi. And because of round-the-clock vigilance by a team of international cyber experts, children and adult users are safer on the Internet.

VODAFONE scam
By odeifer on Fri, 09/10/2009 - 1:07pmHi all,
Just to give you heads up of what might happen to you if you use Vodafone Flexi Plan. I had been charged an amount of money on my credit card by Vodafone only to be ripped off by it. The amount was never credited to my account balance and when I called the call center, they assured me that it would be sorted within 48 hours.
Guess what, it's been 2 weeks since my card was charged and two 48 hours after the call with the center (with a follow-up call in between), and yet nothing... absolutely nothing.. has been solved.
I understand that it's a new network and may need more time to establish a smooth professional service, but at least don't assure customers something they cannot provide.

Vodafone Qatar Reviews
By su2dod on Thu, 01/10/2009 - 10:29amHi,
I have become quite frustrated with Vodafone’s terrible customer service in Qatar so I’ve created this blog to publicize the ridiculous experiences myself and other Vodafone subscribers on QL have been facing.
I will be starting with my experience in my next blog post. Meanwhile, please make yourself welcome to my blog, and I hope it serves to bring awareness to the dire need for improved customer service for Vodafone, and the broader Qatari organizations.
For those of you who would also like to share their experiences (whether good or bad), please send them to my email address and I will GLADLY post them on the blog. Send to: beirutcentral/-a-t-/gmail.com
Thank you for passing by.
Peace and love.
Its been like 3 days now that i cannot make an International Call using my Vodafone sim. The call keeps dropping and i have to dial a no. at least 50 times to get through for few seconds and then it drops again....Anyone else having this issue??
Vodafone to launch fixed line phone service
By Nachu on Fri, 11/09/2009 - 3:37pmVodafone to launch fixed line phone service next year
_____________________________________________________
Vodafone Qatar will launch its fixed line services next year. The telecommunications company yesterday said it was in talks with major developers here to be their exclusive fixed line provider once its licence application was approved.
Michael Portz, Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Qatar, said, however, that it still hadn’t been decided whether the fixed line services will start early or late next year.
Portz said Vodafone Qatar was in talks with some of the country’s leading real estate developers, including Qatari Diar and the United Development Company (UDC), to be the exclusive fixed line provider in their projects.

Mobile Internet War, Chapter 1
By Will2k on Tue, 08/09/2009 - 11:52pmFollowing the recent offers on international calls, it seems that Qtel and Vodafone are starting to shift their attention towards Mobile Internet users. Vodafone Qatar is now offering free 300 MB Mobile Internet usage on top of its Flexi Plans until the end of September [1]. Vodafone Qatar has also announced that it will be selling a limited number of iPhones at its outlets [2]. Qtel on the other hand has just launched its new Mobile Internet Packs (50 MB, 250 MB, 1 GB, 3 GB, and Unlimited) along with its Shahry Plans at the prices of QR 25, 50, 100, 200 and 400 respectively [3]. Unlike Qtel’s Mobile Broadband packages which are provided with “Data-Only” SIM cards, Qtel’s Mobile Internet Packs can be activated on your existing Shahry SIM card.
