LOS ANGELES -- "Michael Jackson's This Is It" pulled in $101 million worldwide in its first five days, and distributor Sony is extending the farewell performance film beyond its planned two-week run.

The film was the No. 1 Halloween thriller domestically with a $21.3 million opening weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.

The previous weekend's No. 1 movie, Paramount's low-budget horror sensation "Paranormal Activity," slipped to No. 2 with $16.5 million, lifting its total to $84.8 million.

"This Is It" raised its domestic total to $32.5 million. The movie pulled in $68.5 million overseas, including $10.4 million in Japan, $6.3 million in Germany, $5.8 million in France and $3.2 million in China.

Amelia will be screened on the opening day of the tribecca film festival. I wonder how many more Amelia Mary Earhart's will I watch in my lifetime. No one is undermining her achievement but doesn't mean hollywood has to make a movie about her every 15 years!
Within less than 75 years from 1946, three biographies (second one in 1994) have been made without forgetting her character potrayed in other movies too.
Repetition of an epic non fiction is way different matter but remake of a lady again & again within less than 15 years seems waste of everything.

The Doha Tribeca Film Festival is going to be uber fun.

I attended their ceremony at the Museum of Islamic Arts to announce the names of films that’ll be showcased over three days (October 29 to November 1). It was a wonderful occasion.

I was getting onto the top floor of the MIA building for the first time. The place was aptly decorated and the excitement was palpable. Excited banter gave way to dead silence as the MCs took centre stage.
