India top tally with three gold medals
By rMs_000 on Sun, 21/02/2010 - 10:17am
India took home five medals, including three gold, to assert their supremacy at the 18th Qatar International Regatta ‘Sail the Gulf 2010,’ which concluded yesterday at the Doha Sailing Club.
On the back of their dominating performance in the Optimist class, Malaysia were second with six medals, which included one gold, two silver and three bronze. Tunisia stood third overall with one gold and two silver medals in the five-day event that featured over 180 sailors from 28 countries.
While India had guaranteed themselves two gold medals, in 470 and Hobie 16 classes, Rajesh Chauhan added one more to their tally with a victory in the Laser Radial.

By qatari on Fri, 29/01/2010 - 10:22amLast night Egypt beat Algeria to proceed to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations. Ginger Brew shared some pictures of Egyptian fans celebrating in the streets of Qatar.

British Muslims are most Patriotic
By Olive on Sun, 13/12/2009 - 1:34pmI've hijacked this from Tigasin's Facebook. :)
UK Muslims are Europe’s most patriotic
Levels of patriotism are higher among second-generation Muslims, the report found
Chris Gourlay
Muslims in Britain are the most patriotic in Europe — but more than a quarter in some parts of the country still do not feel British, according to a new study.
The report, funded by George Soros, the billionaire philanthropist, found that on average 78% of Muslims identified themselves as British, although this dropped by six points in east London.
This compares with 49% of Muslims who consider themselves French and just 23% who feel German.
I think it's not fair.. (Algeria vs Egypt)
By Eagle_of_Heaven on Sun, 22/11/2009 - 5:57pmWell, I am sure that most of QL members are familiar with whats happenning between Egypt and Algeria after this bloody football match bekoz of all those posts...
but i want to confess a thing. I dont know why all people are against Algeria!! Even the singers like nancy ajram and haifa wehbi are saying bad things about Algeria. Haifa Wehbi has stated that Algeria is a terrorist country and country with no culture but only knives!! I think that singers and artists should stay out of this debate and never give their opinion because this will ruine their careers. I am sure Haifa and Nancy will never be welcomed in Algeria anymore and They deserve that ....
Algeria and Egypt ... PLEASE STOP IT...!
By sefri on Sat, 21/11/2009 - 10:01amWhat has happened to these two nations in just three days?
Foreign ministers of both countries accusing the other as traitorous, both governments calling the other side's ambassador to claim against, and people from each country attacking companies and the embassy of the other's?
Right now, I wish if neither team qualified!
Are they out of their minds? Is a football match worth all of this? Come on people... have some sense...!
Ireland was disqualified by a goal scored by the French which should have been disallowed for off-side plus a double hand-ball by Henry... and what did the Irish do about it?
You have to admire even love the Irish after the match congratulating the other side, shaking hands and even hugging the French. They even hugged Terry Henry!
Al Qaradawi doesn't like football
By adey on Sat, 21/11/2009 - 9:29amor he has finally lost the plot!
He must have fun thinking up topics for his friday sermons.
Ron Manager retorted:
"Who is this Qaradawi fella? Small boys in the park, jumpers for goal posts, mum calling you in for your tea - ah memories!"
Did not know whether to post this in Funnies, but I think he is serious! :D
Noted Islamic scholar, Dr Yusuf Al Qaradawi, yesterday described as devils those who introduced the game of soccer;“Who introduced this game of soccer,” he wondered, describing them as satanic.
“And if by winning the game we enter the paradise, the fight can be justified, but can we enter the heaven if we win a game of soccer?”
Ireland exit unfair - Egypt exit undeserved
By sefri on Thu, 19/11/2009 - 11:03amAs a Barcelona fan, I naturally like Terry Henry, but yesterday, I was heartbroken when I saw how a brave, courageous, active and heroic Ireland team beat the crap out of the French chickens (not cocks) yet got eliminated by the cheating hand of Henry!
Ireland with plenty of chances to have sealed qualification to South Africa, had to exit the stage with a shameful double hand ball from the french attacker, questioning the FAIR PLAY slogan that FIFA shows in every match played internationally.
An additional two referees in each game?
Why wait until the next European under-21 championship?
When will teams like Ireland feel that they were justifiably eliminated?
The real suspense :)
By Eagle_of_Heaven on Wed, 18/11/2009 - 6:19pmAm postin this in the funnies section koz i know many people will beg the modd to stopp such posts...
A L G E R I A VS E G Y P T

Egyptians at Algeria
By nohashakib on Tue, 17/11/2009 - 9:36amI have been those two days monitoring what's happening at Algeria, and stories about Egyptians burnt, and some of them escaped with the police help!! and other drama tragedies, and what I really was bothered by, the threatening voice of media that started to take place since yesterday.
But what I really liked is what Amr Adeeb said yesterday on Orbit, is that all the politicians have to sit with each other to see what else that the soccer game made events like that, coz actually sure there are other elements we dont knew about that made the kettle blow up.
and may be there are other countries that have feelings like this twards us and we dont know, and what's really chocking not how the Algerian street acts, its how thier politicians acted neutrally as if nothing is happening.
