Current rental market (August/September)
By akatags on Mon, 17/08/2009 - 7:51pmIt would be great if someone can shed some light on the current rental market in Doha. I've looked at several real estate agents' websites, but believe they are not really updated...
What's the going rate for a good 1-bed apartment in Doha, preferably with a pool and gym?

An open letter to real estate agents & owners
By festerzio on Tue, 21/07/2009 - 1:43pmWAKE UP! you're being unreal
I'm not accusing you of playing havoc like in the other thread, even tough I agree with many things that were said there
http://www.qatarlivi...
I would like to point out the mistakes you're committing in the way you're conducting the business:
1- Convincing the landlords and yourself that YOU will save them and will get them the high rents they are expecting. Wake up! because the time is passing month after month and you are still posting the same offer 5 times a day on QL! Look at all the new compounds and buildings that are COMPLETELY unoccupied in doha, and the hundreds that will be completed very soon.
Qatar: Real Estate Agents Playing Havoc
By LifeisBeautiful on Sun, 19/07/2009 - 8:40amA news from Gulf News:
Unscrupulous agents are creating difficulties for both tenants and landlords in the Qatari real estate market according to businesses, who are doing their best to warn prospective tenants to be careful about who they deal with.
Reports in recent months have indicated that agents have been acting as middle men, taking money from tenants and offering guarantees that they have neither the intention nor ability to keep.

Landlords woo tenants with new offers
By jackmohan2007 on Sat, 14/03/2009 - 5:01pmLandlords woo tenants with new offers
Faced with poor demand for residential properties, some landlords have come out with new offers to woo customers.
If advertisements in newspapers and some community websites are any indication, some landlords are offering attractive discounts on rents on the condition that the tenants pay the full rent for one year in advance.
Some others are luring tenants with announcements that they will be exempted from paying rent for the first one or two months of the contract period.
In some cases, two-bedroom flats that were priced at
QR6, 000 are now being offered at QR4, 500, provided one year’s rent is paid in advance. However, it is not clear whether there are any takers for such offers.
Hi,
are the real estate agents on Cross roads.
With Barwa Flats ready to be occupied from Feb 1, it seems that the Real estate agents, especially Malabaris are taken for a ride.
Finally people can get some relief from these fellows, who took undue advantage of the circustances and had taken the people/ Customers for granted.
This was bound to happen since people were silently praying for this injustified hike in rents to come to an end. Hope this trend continues till all these people realize there mistakes and circumstances wipe such miscreants out of the market. So that people can live happily ever after
A Winner
