By zhohara on Thu, 12/11/2009 - 9:56amI am writing this post to tell all of you who may be having issues with your visas and residencies the bottom line. Go to the Ministry of Interior yourselves and find out exactly what rights to which you are entitled and don’t fall into the trap I did.

Moving company in Qatar
By stony2009 on Sun, 25/10/2009 - 5:09pmDoes anybody have an idea, what I can do?
I moved from Qatar back to Germany in August 2009.
The removal company was:
Freight Forwarding, Logistics & Removals.
Global Freight Systems Co. W.L.L.
P.O. Box: 30640 Doha - Qatar .
Packing started on the 18 of August, they finished after working one whole night on the 27. of August.
So we are talking about 10 days packing by 4 people. The same contents were packed in Germany and in
England within 3 days by 2-3 packers.
There was only one competent packer, the others were willing put they had no training.
We left Qatar on the 28, being told, that the ship would leave on the 29 of August,
arriving in Germany on the 26 latest 28 of September (a realistic time, moving from GB to Qatar took including tax four weeks).
What prize do you get for a quiz? Somalia
By exiledsaint on Sat, 17/10/2009 - 8:31pmI can't write stuff as funny as this, genuis, pure genius...
The winners of a quiz organised by Somali Islamists have been given weapons and ammunition as prizes.
Prizes included AK-47 assault rifles, hand grenades and an anti-tank mine.
The quiz ran during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan in the port city of Kismayo, and included questions about the Koran and Somali geography.
A representative for the al-Shabab militant group said the quiz aimed to stop young men from wasting their time and focus on defending their territory.
We just wondered why this restaurant hasn't reopened as we really enjoyed the food.

The Teachers of death
By Winn on Mon, 12/10/2009 - 11:00amMULTAN, PAKISTAN // Last month, the chief minister of Punjab, Shabaz Sharif, was given a highly confidential briefing by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Punjab police. He was warned about growing extremism in southern Multan and told that at least eight suicide bombers who had attacked the country over the past year had emerged from this belt. He was also told that the ammunition used in the February bomb blast at a mosque in Dera Ghazi Khan, which killed 30 people, had been stored in a school house in Multan.
Ramadan Photo Competition: And the winner is
By baldrick2dogs on Sat, 03/10/2009 - 11:18pm1. Drac - Whilst its a bit blurry and the colours are dull it does show a 'high level' of devotion. Might have worked better as Black & White
2. Scarl3T - Suffers a bit from motion blur, probably from too slow a shutter speed, but a nice composition and meaning
May i ask if it's reasonable to offset cancel day off last ramadan time?? They canceled our day off telling us that this will be paid in our salary of the said cutoff period. Recently, the management told us that they agreed in their meeting not to paid the said "CANCELED DAY OFF".
The management want us to render at 2 days off per week of this month until the said canceled day off will be offset. In the first place they never inform everybody this will be the arrangement after our service of work. Can u give us some advice what to do??? Thanks.

Have you heard any recent new rumors since Ramadan, of the QDC closing permanently?

can i ask some question about the ramadan duty hours, overtime, and cancel day off?? how it can be paid by the company?? in the qatar labor law it can be convert to offseting dayoff?? bec. our company didn't want to pay our cancel day off during ramdan time, but all the staff are not agree with that offsetting day off. help us please..

ok i dont understand whats going on.
By motez1 on Fri, 02/10/2009 - 9:39amHello everyone, I have a problem... I've been in Doha for about 2 months now and I am having trouble finding a job. I am an American with work experience. I am applying to a good amount of Jobs and Im not getting any calls back. Now many people said "dont worry everyone gets lazy during Ramadan/Eid" which is fine but I am starting to believe that many companies dont even check their e-mails. Because when I called a company that I already sent my CV to.. the person said that they never received anything. All the companies I applied to are Qatari Companies.. most start with a Q. Is there a site or anything that I can find international companies in Doha? In the marketing field if thats possible. But at this point any job will do, I came here for work, not to sit down at the beach.
