The Sperminator !
By britexpat on Sun, 08/11/2009 - 7:32amIs this a case of "beware the social networking sites" or just gullibility ?
Love rat Baronet has been branded The Sperminator for getting TWELVE girls pregnant after wooing them on the social networking site - two of them on the SAME DAY.
For years the laptop lust hunter has secretly preyed on women with his smooth internet patter. He told one smitten girl: "One hundred million sperm entered the womb. Only one made you - that makes you simply the best!"
As well as his wantonly prolific bedroom strike rate, 26-year-old factory worker Baronet boasts a seedy history - a convicted drug dealer sentenced to four years for supplying cocaine and ecstasy. Just the sort of lad you want fathering your babies.
Nation's premier church battles abortion in front yard

For the Catholic hierarchy, it must be a dreaded case of the barbarians finally reaching its gates.
Two years ago, at the bidding of Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales, Monsignor Jose Clemente Ignacio became rector of the Church of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo, home of the miraculous 400-year-old statue of the kneeling Christ that is the object of frenzied adulation by millions.
To head what the Cardinal calls “the premier church of the Philippines" is an esteemed post any man of the cloth would be eager to assume—except the plaza outside the Quiapo Church also happens to be the abortion capital of Metro Manila.
Conman gives himself away on Facebook
By britexpat on Wed, 14/10/2009 - 2:39pmA fraudster who went on the run from US authorities gave himself away - because he couldn't help himself from posting on Facebook.
Cameroon-born Maxi Sopo's messages made it clear he was living the high life in the Mexican resort of Cancun.
He also added a former US justice department official to his friend list who ended up helping to track him down, reports the BBC.
US officials say Mr Sopo and an associate falsely obtained more than £125,000 in credit from banks.
In recent status updates Mr Sopo said he was "loving it", described himself as "living in paradise" and said he was "just here to have fun".
"He was making posts about how beautiful life is and how he was having a good time with his buddies," said Assistant US Attorney Michael Scoville.

By nicaq25 on Thu, 26/02/2009 - 4:23pmSharjah: Sharjah police have arrested five members of a gang, for beating up school children, filming the beatings and threatening to post the videos on social networking site Facebook unless ransom money is paid.

Ransom demands of Dh1,000 a week have been received.

Tagged.com users find a way
By ngourlay on Thu, 19/02/2009 - 9:56amHere's a surprising thing. Tagged, the social networking site, has maintained its ranking as the ninth most popular website in Qatar, despite being blocked by Qtel. If the numbers hold up over the weekend, it looks like I'll be compiling an internet chart for The Peninsula that contains a banned site.
I guess this is because people are finding ways to circumvent the censor. Or maybe people are now spending their work hours visiting Tagged on uncensored connections.
Oh, and on a side note, QL has now become the second most popular local site, having overtaken Qatar University's site.
Facebook backs down, reverses on user info
By RED_POPE on Wed, 18/02/2009 - 4:48pmFacebook backs down, reverses on user information policy
(CNN) -- Under fire from tens of thousands of users, the social networking site Facebook said early Wednesday it is reverting to its old policy on user information -- for now.
The site posted a brief message on users' home pages that said it was returning to its previous "Terms of Use" policy "while we resolve the issues that people have raised."
The "Terms of Use" is the legalese tacked on to the bottom of most Web sites that details what the site's owners can do with the information that users provide.
Facebook uses your data to cash in..
By AbuAmerican on Mon, 02/02/2009 - 3:23pmFacebook is planning to exploit the vast amount of personal information it holds on its 150m members by creating one of the world's largest market research databases.
In an attempt to finally monetise the social networking site, once valued at $15bn (£10.4bn), it will soon allow multinational companies to selectively target its members in order to research the appeal of new products. Companies will be able to pose questions to specially selected members based on such intimate details as whether they are single or married and even whether they are gay or straight.
