Photography in Qatar
By msanonymous on Mon, 06/10/2008 - 10:56amI am an amateur photographer and as such, would like to ask regarding the policies about it here in Qatar?
Cos I was told that you cannot just take photos of places and people (here in Qatar) just like that and my interest lies on that.
Is that true? Or if it is, do I need to acquire any permit?
Any help, anyone? Thanks so much.
Also, if you could suggest places which are unique to Qatar and depicts the local culture.

Tourism in Qatar not up to the mark
By tallg on Sun, 05/10/2008 - 9:08amI think it's safe to say that this news article isn't telling us anything we didn't already know, but it got me wondering - what things do you think Qatar should develop in order to bring the country's tourism "up to the mark"?
Source ::: The Peninsula
A majority of Qatar residents feel that the country's tourism is not up to the mark, according to a survey conducted by Al Sharq daily.
In the online poll conducted by the Arabic daily, 75 percent of the respondents said that the internal tourism in the country is not growing much. 18 percent said that they were satisfied with the tourism here while seven percent remained neutral to the issue.

By Sasuke on Fri, 03/10/2008 - 3:44pmHello all,
if I will move to Doha I would like to practise my sport, sailing.
Option 1) I will bring my sailboat from Europe.. it is far and a bit dangerous.. but, are there some nice marinas in Doha where and european can rent a place?
Option 2) I will sell mine, and buy another one there. Do is there a bit of market for sailboat there?
bye!

The bedu babes of the Singing Sand Dunes
By AbuAmerican on Fri, 03/10/2008 - 12:42amAnother long read of mine.. Another experience made in Qatar another lesson learned while living in Qatar. I stole the idea of the photos from Novita! Thanks for the idea. This first appeared on ilq.net.
"The bedu babes of the Singing Sand Dunes"
Since I arrived here a year ago it has been an ardent desire of mine to experience and see the Singing Sand Dunes. It has taken me about a year to find them and I don't know why because I did a search on QL and there were the directions in VIVID detail by our very own Tallg who posted a VERY exact description of how to get to the dunes. We (the family and I) followed the directions and made it there on the first try without any hiccups. Alhamdulillah.

Did have a great time at the SEALINE BEACH RE
By cdraju on Thu, 02/10/2008 - 8:45amThe place was wonderful and being first time to doha, Found it as happening place. There was thousands of four wheels on the roads, Inside the resort it was very nice atmosphere, They had the camel rides and horse rides, I was jet ski was roaring in the sea, bit expensive but cool!
However I shall advise to have caution on Quad bikes on the dunes there was too many four wheel drives around
We had great buffet lunch at the Sealine Beach Resort, They are charging QR 150 net per head - You know that they had DJ at the garden with music of your choice to be played at a later stage they had competitions for the kids, and dance competition for adults
For the kids there was free pop corn, and suger candy- Oh there was also this jumping castles- The pool with water fall was magnificent
