Rents Finally Decline in Qatar

Yes that's true, yesterday my friend got an excellent 2 bed room apartment, in a very nice building with covered parking, very nice from inside in just 5000 QAR. 4 - 5 months ago such apartments were going on 7000 - 9000 QAR.
I wont be surprised if the same fall to 3 - 4 K QAR.

Rent declines in Qatar!!!Are we aware?

Everyone knows that economic recession has affected adversely the whole world. A curse that turned to be a blessing for the whole expat community in middle east atleast.

Rent has started coming down drastically. yesterday Barwas chief openly said it. In UAE, almost 11% downfall on rent occured in a very short period. And forecasts say , further downward trend will be there for atleast one year.

In Qatar also, the same trend has been started. The real estate agents who have signed agreements with local owners for a long time, like 3 years ,5 years etc. are in deep trouble as they are not able to get back the amounts from tenants.
My intention on beginning such a topic here is to make all the expatriates aware the change of situation.

Cost of Renting Property Reducing

I'm moving out to Doha next week to start work there. I was reading on an article on another website (dated 21st of this month I think) that the rental prices of property have now started to drop.......is this correct?

Thanks in advance

Doha Real Estate: Zawya report

23 November 2008
DOHA: Real estate prices have fallen by almost 50 percent in the suburbs of Doha, reviving hopes of a downslide in the rental market, property market operators said yesterday.

The global financial crisis has put sudden brakes to the real estate boom in the country. While land prices have fallen by almost 30 percent in Doha city limits this month alone, the rates in the suburbs have been declining faster.

Plots in some suburbs are now available for QR400 per square metre, down by almost half over just a month. Real estate investors expect a further slide in land prices in the days to come, said Abdul Wahab, a property agent.

Happy news *****Rents are going down

Hai...
As we discussed earlier about the rents in Qatar...
yes it is going down not only the rents for accomadation but also the rents for ware houses, store rooms etc...
beacause of so many reasons, like see the oil price, global financial crisis, the gold rate also going down, it is evident from the daily news papers.
also so many flats and villas become unmanned as the hamad hospital employees have been shifted to HMC owned accomadation and so many people are going to move to their new Barwa accomadation...etc..,
and you can easily make this from the daily news papaers"Accomadation Available" coloum.

Regards

Blvr.
