HI
My company wants to begin importing sports and fitness related items for resale including gym equipment and also nutritional products.
We are a registered company in Qatar but just wondered what additional paperwork etc we need to bring stuff in?
Or can we just have it shipped in to a person?
Regards
Fitness

Nokia-now open /-a-t-/ LULU D-Ring road
By avinashmathew on Sun, 22/11/2009 - 8:45amCGC opens Nokia showroom and service center at Lulu Hyper on D Ring Road
Consolidated Gulf Company (CGC), Nokia partner for Qatar, has opened a new Nokia showroom and Nokia Care service center at Lulu Hypermarket on D Ring Road in Doha. Anil Mahajan, Chief Operating Officer of CGC, and Shaijan M. O., Regional Manager, Lulu Hypermarket group, jointly inaugurated the new Nokia outlet at one of the most popular malls in the country. Celebrating the launch, CGC is gifting free Nokia T-shirts, steel coffee mugs, 2GB memory card with adapter on every purchase of Nokia phones and enhancements worth QR 100 and more from the showroom. To commemorate the occasion, CGC also distributed branded pens and stress- buster balls to the mall shoppers.
I came to Qatar with a work visa issued by a retail company. Before arriving I had also applied for a position at QatarFoundation. About 3 weeks into my retail job, I was called for an interview with Qatar Foundation (QF) , and later was offered a position of an IT consultant. I arrived on May 29, and since then had only done my medical, and didn't complete RP process with my employer; who was also kind enough to give me NOC to complete QF application.
In Sept, I submitted all particulars with QF HR and I was told to wait 1-2 months.

I want to buy some plumbing parts
I'm thinking of opening a retail business with Qatari partner in the near future - he wants a portion of the profits approx. 10% which I'm happy with - the problem is that once the business is set up he could ask for more or even remove my staff from the business and take over the day to day running.
He's not a rich Qatari so the money he gets will make a difference to his life.
Is it possible to make up a contract legally to stop him from doing this ?

Dubai builds, but they don’t come

There is something surreal about the financial crisis that has engulfed Dubai.
A small desert emirate, without significant hydrocarbon reserves, Dubai finds itself geared to the eyebrows in the midst of a global downturn. Deutsche Bank estimates its external debts at about $74.3 billion. That, for the record, is 107 percent of the emirate’s expected 2009 GDP, or more than 14 times its government revenues for 2006 (the latest year for which data is available).
But it isn’t just the extreme leverage that is surreal. Dubai has long borrowed heavily to invest. The real twist comes from the wacky way that Dubai has chosen to invest its borrowed cash.
Vodafone Worst Service
By mr google on Fri, 18/09/2009 - 3:27pm1. Call Center agents are worst than Qtel. They dont know to answer an inquiry. They told me to visit a retail store when I asked them to convert my line to prepaid but when I'm in the retail store the agents in retail store told me that only the call center can do the conversion.
Qtel is better because you may visit their Qtel offices if their call center agents dont know how to answer your inquiry. Vodafone has no offices who can answer your inquiry.
2. Vodafone are not replying on my email for my request of recharge transaction record. I sent them my third email but they are still not replying. I emailed it to care.qa/-a-t-/vodafone.com
3. Call Center agents are rude specially that Filipina lady named Jen.
