TEHRAN – Pakistan’s former chief of army staff, General Mirza Aslam Beg (ret.), has said the U.S. private security company Blackwater was directly involved in the assassinations of former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto and former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri.
Blackwater later changed its name and is now known as Xe.
'Imran, Benazir had a roaring affair at Oxfor
By Pajju on Thu, 20/08/2009 - 11:21amLONDON: The author of a new biography on Imran Khan claims that the cricketer-turned-politician was romantically involved with slain Pakistan PM Benazir Bhutto when both of them studied together at Oxford University.
In his book, Christopher Sandford has written that Bhutto became infatuated with Khan and the duo enjoyed a "close" and possibly "sexual" relationship. The author has also alleged that Khan's mother even tried to organise an arranged marriage between the pair, but to no avail.
Unhand my patio heater, archbishop

The Archbishop of Canterbury told the faithful on Christmas Day that unless human beings abandon our greed, we will be responsible for the death of the planet.
Hmm. I’m not sure that I can take a lecture on greed from a man who heads one of the western world’s richest institutions. As we huddle under a patio heater to stay warm while having a cigarette in the rain, his bishops are living in palatial splendour with banqueting halls, wondering where to invest the next billion.

As the nation celebrates the eleventh anniversary of Pakistan’s nuclear tests today (May 28), a shocking 30-year-old secret has been exposed. It reveals how a young woman college lecturer, feeling betrayed after a romance with a nuclear scientist of the Karachi Nuclear Power Plant (KANUPP), had given a lead to the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in 1978, which in turn had led to the dramatic arrest of 12 Pakistani scientists and engineers, planning to sabotage Pakistan’s nuclear sites at the behest of a superpower.

Did Dick Cheney order Benazir's death?
By Winn on Wed, 20/05/2009 - 11:38amAn 'executive assassination ring', answerable only to former US Vice President Dick Cheney, played a role in the death of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, noted American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has alleged.
In a May 12 interview with Gulf News TV, Hersh claimed that Cheney ordered the hit on Bhutto because in a November 2007 interview with Al Jazeera TV, she had indicated that Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden [Images] was already dead.

By ham421 on Mon, 23/03/2009 - 4:52pmMonday, March 23, 2009
Monitoring Report
WASHINGTON: The prestigious Foreign Policy magazine has issued a list of world’s top 13 losers and President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan figures in the top five on the list.
The magazine said the 13 choices for this month ranked by just how little sympathy we should have for them.
Placing Asif Ali Zardari at No 5, the magazine said: “Zardari was known to be a bad guy long before he became Pakistan’s president.
Many of the closest friends of his late wife, Benazir Bhutto, could not stand him. Now, as it turns out, neither can most of the Pakistani people.

"Ehsan Masood explores the status of science in the Islamic world today for a new series on BBC Radio 4. He asks whether measures taken to promote science in recent years are having an impact.
In the mid 1990s, I was asked by the science journal Nature to discover the state of science in Pakistan.
Like today, Pakistan had become a democracy after more than a decade of military rule. Benazir Bhutto was prime minister. But science then was not a priority.
The ministry had no minister and - the nuclear programme aside - the national research budget was less than that of an average UK university.
