Headley's Mumbai home traced;NIA probes 26/11
By svelte_saggi on Tue, 17/11/2009 - 8:45amMumbai: David Coleman Headley, the suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba operative arrested in the US by the FBI for plotting terror attacks to be carried out in India and Denmark, had stayed at an apartment in Breach Candy area while living in Mumbai.
According to reports, Headley had stayed on the fifth floor of A Block of Shyam Niwas housing society in south Mumbai’s Breach Candy area.
The apartment – Number 56, where Headley stayed as a paying guest along with an elderly Sindhi couple for almost a year beginning April 2008 – is located near the US Consulate.
The revelation comes amidst the investigating agencies’ efforts to retrace the steps of Headley and his associate Tahawwur Rana across India.
The Sindhi couple described Headley as “sweet and charming”.
Ft Hd Shooter Tied to Mosque of 9/11Hijackers
By AirForce1 on Mon, 09/11/2009 - 9:10amNEW YORK — The family of the alleged Fort Hood shooter held his mother's funeral at the same Virginia mosque that two Sept. 11 hijackers attended in 2001, at a time when a radical imam preached there.
Whether the Fort Hood shooter associated with the hijackers is something the FBI will probably look into, according to a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.
The family of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who killed 13 and wounded 29 at the Texas military base, held his mother's funeral at the Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Va., on May 31, 2001, according to her obituary in the Roanoke Times newspaper.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The U.S. government will pay $1.26 million to five Muslim men detained for months without charges after the September 11 attacks who sued for unlawful imprisonment and abuse, their lawyers said on Tuesday.
The men claimed they suffered inhumane and degrading treatment in a Brooklyn detention center, including solitary confinement, severe beatings, incessant verbal abuse and a blackout on communications with their families and attorneys.
Qatari Al-Qaeda link sentenced to prison
By PM on Fri, 30/10/2009 - 2:57amBy CAM SIMPSON
WASHINGTON -- A Qatari man who admitted working with the mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks received a lighter prison sentence than the government sought after a federal judge cited the government's decision to jail the al Qaeda operative without charge for almost six years.
Ali al-Marri, 44, was eligible for a term of up to 15 years in prison under federal sentencing guidelines, but received only an eight-year sentence from U.S. District Judge Michael Mihm, of Peoria, Ill. Judge Mihm dropped 71 months from the sentence, because that's how long President George W. Bush kept the former Bradley University graduate student in isolation at a U.S. Navy brig in South Carolina.

A nice literal script from an X-Files episode
By heero_yuy2 on Fri, 21/08/2009 - 3:10pmLately I've been watching all of the seasons of the X-Files with as much as once a day (usually during lunch) and I'm now at the last season (season 9 - which, at first, aint willing to see on TV because Fox Mulder wasn't in almost any of the episodes in this season) and I've come to the episode "Lord of the Flies" which was originally aired in the US on December 12, 2001. It tells the story of a kid who seem to have an attraction to bugs when his pheromones activate and how the FBI agents search the clues of the incidents that happened around the deaths of a certain school kids close to him.
While we know the boy is different and he's going through puberty stage as he fell in love with his schoolmate friend, the mother resists it as she knows the consequences of it.
