Qatar needs VISION

i am not a qatari but still i was born n raised here in this country.and believe me its a very peacefull country but what i feel the guys who control most of the stuff here needs some vision. the country has grand resources and great pottential but still it is falling behind when it comes development as compared to Dubai n all.if someone has went there they will tell the difference.
.
their are some points i want u to consider to make my point clear.
FOR PEOPLE IN ARCHITECTURE INDUSTRY
1.the expansion of the city in only one direction (that is near corniche) where as if u see a map of the country u will see it has a lot of vacant space which can be used if u use some brains ,u can seriously utilize this vacant land.

Facelift: Sealine!

The following article is from the Peninsula. I've been there thrice and all I can ask is... "What took this decision so long"? Better late than never, aye?

The Sealine Beach Resort will begin a major renovation and expansion after Ramadan – along with a new name: The Sealine Beach Resort by Merweb.

Around 20 new villas will be added on the western part of the resort’s property. As part of the makeover, the hotel will expand its lobby, add new restaurant outlets, a new club, and plan new activities.

The resort, which is located in Mesaieed, includes a hotel with 35 rooms and two suites, 20 chalets, 20 villas, five restaurants, a spa, fitness centre, a mosque, and all sports facilities and courts.

Grito family, a frequent visitor to the resort.

Some q's before we decide to move! Pls help!

Hi all,

We are thinking about moving to Qatar and would love if anyone can help us with the following questions on our list! :) apologies in advance for our ignorance.

1. We have a dog and have heard that you're not really supposed to walk them around in Qatar. Is this true? How are dogs received in Qatar? Do the expat villas allow dogs?

2. What's it like there for women - is it safe to walk around alone? And what do you have to wear in public?

3. What do people do on the weekends? Are there good restaurants, bars? What do people do in their leisure time? Do people go to the beach?

4. How do people get around - do we hire a car or buy one?

5. What's the shopping like? ;)

6. I've heard it's hard to get visitation visas - is this true?
