*Mind Your Internet Manners*
By t_coffee_or_me on Sun, 13/04/2008 - 8:03pmJust as in your real everyday life, manners are important on the Internet as
well. Although it may seem like you can say anything to anybody for any
reason (and you can, actually), there may still be repercussions to such
actions. Getting slammed (or spammed) with angry emails will be the likely
response from many, or you may be barred from your favorite chat room. You can save yourself a large amount of grief if you follow a few simple rules.

Eat rats to battle food crisis
By KellysHeroes on Fri, 22/08/2008 - 12:35amPatna, INDIA (Reuters)
A state government in eastern India is encouraging people to eat rats in an effort to battle soaring food prices and save grain stocks.
Authorities in Bihar, one of India's poorest states, are asking rich and poor alike to switch to eating rats in a bid to reduce the dependence on rice. They even plan to offer rats on restaurant menus.
"Eating of rats will serve twin purposes -- it will save grains from being eaten away by rats and will simultaneously increase our grain stock," Vijay Prakash, an official from the state's welfare department, told Reuters.
Officials say almost 50 percent of India's food grains stocks are eaten away by rodents in fields or warehouses.

Y'know why I'm scared of hospitals?
By heero_yuy2 on Thu, 21/08/2008 - 11:29pmYou go there and check your fever and they diagnose you have some major internal problem and they'll give you CT scans or X-rays or urine test samples or blood tests and they'll give you a medicine that's not even related to fever which will make you vomit even more and your fever will soon be more than just the common virus problem and you'll be brought to the ICU room for ready operation tomorrow and they'll do surgery and they'll let you stay for 20 days and you'll pay all the fees.
All because of a fever. Jeez!

The Right Stuff (1983)
By heero_yuy2 on Thu, 21/08/2008 - 10:13pmDirector: Philip Kaufman
Stars: Dennis Quaid, Ed Harris, Sam Shepard, Lance Henriksen, Scott Glenn, Fred Ward, etc.
Story tells about Chuck Yeager, the man who first broke the sound barrier, and the Mercury 7 astronuts. A movie that tells the real meaning of being 'a plane pilot' and how each and one of them were handed over as lame 'test subjects' against a government competition with Russia for the first men in space.
The comedy has an intelligent tone, but still has a light touch for common moviegoers. A bit long but nicely toned.
Enjoy the movie.

British journalist stationed in Fillippines
By Meaningful on Thu, 21/08/2008 - 10:04pmHIGHLY RECOMMENDED READING TO RELEASE STRESS.....

The following is from a British journalist stationed in the Philippines.
His observations are so hilarious!!! ! This was written in 1999.
Matter of Taste
By Matthew Sutherland
I have now been in this country for over six years, and consider myself in most respects well assimilated. However, there is one key step on
the road to full assimilation, which I have yet to take, and that's
to eat BALUT.
The day any of you sees me eating balut, please call immigration and ask them to issue me a Filipino passport. Because at that point there will be no turning back.
BALUT, for those still blissfully ignorant non-Pinoys out there, is a

All men. Please be very careful!
By britexpat on Thu, 21/08/2008 - 9:31pmVimmin..........Can't trust them. Especially the German ones..
Man left naked and broke
A trusting German had to jog two miles naked to a police station after a woman promised him sex and then ran off with his clothes.
Felix Adler, 40, said he met the 24-year-old woman in a bar in Cham in southern Germany and they walked to woods on the edge of town where she begged him to have sex.
But as he stripped off, she fled with his clothes - including his wallet with £800 in it.
He managed to make his way to the police station and gave a full description of the woman to police who later tracked her down.
A police spokesman said: "He was very embarrassed and very cold by the time he got to the police station."

Viagra Alternative
By MagicDragon on Thu, 21/08/2008 - 5:44pmFour horses were found having been doped at the Olympics in Bejing. They were from Germany, Brazil, Norway, and Ireland. The cream used is Capsaicin and enhances the bloodflow in the skin making the horses more sensitive not to touch the obstacles. Could that be a priceworthy alternative to Viagra?
