October 24 marks the "International Day of Climate Action" and Qatar is one of only 23 countries that have nothing planned yet.
SustainableQatar requests the Doha Community participate in the "International Day of Climate Action" in Qatar. We would like to do this in order to show global solidarity with regards to this issue and to allow the organizers of www.350.org to announce at the United Nations Climate Change conference in Copenhagen in less then 2 months that 171 countries around the world were taking part in the "International Day of Climate Action".

ICC’s fourth edition of the Summer camp – The Oasis 2009 is all set to be underway from the 2nd.Aug.2009.
“While, the deadline for accepting applications was the 26th.July.2009, enquiries continue to pour in beyond the deadline date. We are still accepting applications, since the camp is for the school going children, ICC would not want to disappoint any child by denying admission to this Summer extravaganza.
5 days a week for 6 weeks is packed with entertainment (music and dance), sports (aerobics, bowling, swimming, karate, chess, caroms, badminton & table tennis), skills development (creative writing, dramatics, debates, Spelling BEE) art and craft, painting, clay modeling and recreational mathematics.

SQ Meeting
'SustainableQatar' started off in March 2008 as a group of environmental and social educators getting together to share interests and start a dialogue. Our goal to share resources, foster collaboration, and make a real change in the health and well-being of the community, environment, and development of Qatar.
Digital Star Competition
By ict QATAR on Wed, 27/05/2009 - 8:05amOver 50 teams from schools across Qatar will compete in the 2009 Digital Star Competition, which asked students to submit digital projects that showcase how learning and teaching could be improved through the use of technology.
The competition, which is co sponsored by College of the North Atlantic-Qatar (CNA-Q) and the Supreme Council for Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR), will take place on Saturday, May 30 9:00 at CNA-Q's main campus.
At the competition, students will present their projects to a panel of judges and awards will be given to the top entries in three grade groups - Elementary, Middle and High Schools. The students worked in small groups with the assistance of a teacher.

Doha Expat Mums & Kids - Pasta Cooking Class!

The Head Chef will demonstrate the making of pasta dough for flat noodles and stuffed pasta's (pappardelle, vermicelli, fettuccine, ravioli ), hand rolling and cooking with practical participation.
Pasta sauces including pesto, arribiato and further sauces will be demonstrated as well as alternative idea's when preparing pasta dishes.
Continental breakfast is served in Lime Cafe, (turn right once you are in the lobby) from 8.30am and the cooking class starts at 9.15am.The cost is 170QR and includes lunch.
Please include your contact number with your RSVP as the the Hotels' Food & Beverage assistant will do a confirmation ring around and discuss payment options prior to the morning of the event.
