"This Is It" - World's Highest Grossing

LOS ANGELES -- "Michael Jackson's This Is It" pulled in $101 million worldwide in its first five days, and distributor Sony is extending the farewell performance film beyond its planned two-week run.

The film was the No. 1 Halloween thriller domestically with a $21.3 million opening weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.

The previous weekend's No. 1 movie, Paramount's low-budget horror sensation "Paranormal Activity," slipped to No. 2 with $16.5 million, lifting its total to $84.8 million.

"This Is It" raised its domestic total to $32.5 million. The movie pulled in $68.5 million overseas, including $10.4 million in Japan, $6.3 million in Germany, $5.8 million in France and $3.2 million in China.

Obama Joker poster denounced as racist..

A poster depicting President Barack Obama as Heath Ledger's "Joker" character from "The Dark Knight" has sparked controversy after it appeared on the streets of Los Angeles.

The poster shows the US president with white face paint, dark eye shadow and smudged red lipstick above the caption "socialism", in an apparent attack on the US president's efforts to reform health care and stimulus spending.

Earl Ofari Hutchinson, president of the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable, denounced the image and called on those behind it to reveal themselves. "Depicting the president as demonic and a socialist goes beyond political spoofery.

Oscar results leaked online?

A document purportedly listing the “winners” of this weekend’s Academy Awards has been published on the Internet.
The authentic-looking document, which seems to have been scanned in, has an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences letterhead and what looks like the signature of the Academy's president, Sid Ganis.
“This is the final list of winners of the 81st Annual Academy Awards. As always, please treat this
information with extreme care,” News.com.au quoted the document, as stating.
According to the list, Kate Winslet has won best actress gong for The Reader and Mickey Rourke has bagged best actor award for The Wrestler.
Heath Ledger has been named best supporting actor for The Dark Knight and Amy Adams has won best supporting actress gong for Doubt.
