Qatar Living App for iPhone
By hammad31 on Sat, 01/08/2009 - 7:14pmQatar Living should have an iPhone application just like facebook or twitter apps on the iPhone. I usually find it more convenient and fun to stay connected to all the social media sites I am subscribed to using my iPhone. I can chat, post comments and follow people on facebook. iPhone is no doubt the leading platform for next generation of mobile applications, social media, mobile gaming and entertainment. I think it could be a potential move for Qatar Living and a leading technological edge that QL can offer to its members which no other local site has done so far.
Would love to get your comments on this topic.

Tagged.com users find a way
By ngourlay on Thu, 19/02/2009 - 9:56amHere's a surprising thing. Tagged, the social networking site, has maintained its ranking as the ninth most popular website in Qatar, despite being blocked by Qtel. If the numbers hold up over the weekend, it looks like I'll be compiling an internet chart for The Peninsula that contains a banned site.
I guess this is because people are finding ways to circumvent the censor. Or maybe people are now spending their work hours visiting Tagged on uncensored connections.
Oh, and on a side note, QL has now become the second most popular local site, having overtaken Qatar University's site.
Qatar Living : Topping the Charts
By qatari on Tue, 11/11/2008 - 10:57pmThe Peninsula started a great new feature this week - the "Internet Charts" which track the most popular websites in Qatar. Qatar Living comes in just behind Qatar University and the Ministry of the Interior as the third most popular local site.
We're stoked at the recognition - QL has broken 8m pageviews last month and now has over 60,000 registered users. In fact, nearly 300,000 people visit Qatar Living every month.
This week has also seen another list of chart toppers from the folks over at the Visitor blog - more subjective but confirming something that QLers have known all along - that Qatar Living is the best website in Qatar!
Of course, the best recognition isn't that written up in charts or lists - it's the satisfaction that we have as a community knowing that we have helped so many people over the last three years have a better and more enjoyable life in Qatar.
So give yourselves a round of applause - QL is the great place that it is because of all your fantastic contributions!
