What prize do you get for a quiz? Somalia

I can't write stuff as funny as this, genuis, pure genius...

The winners of a quiz organised by Somali Islamists have been given weapons and ammunition as prizes.

Prizes included AK-47 assault rifles, hand grenades and an anti-tank mine.

The quiz ran during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan in the port city of Kismayo, and included questions about the Koran and Somali geography.

A representative for the al-Shabab militant group said the quiz aimed to stop young men from wasting their time and focus on defending their territory.

The Scorpions Kick off Euro Tour in Poland...

Scorpions found by Polish customs inspectors in parcel from Hong Kong - 1/7/2009
A student said the scorpions were for his exotic animal collection

Polish customs officers were surprised to find live scorpions in a parcel from Hong Kong supposed to contain toys.

The small parcel held 39 scorpions, 32 of them still alive, customs officials told AFP news agency.

The package was being sent to a 24-year-old student in Wroclaw who told police he wanted to add the scorpions to his collection of exotic animals.

A Customs Poland spokeswoman told AFP the low declared value of the "toys" aroused the suspicion of agents.

Wiping Israel off the in-flight map

Maybe it's a codeshare with Ahmadinejad Airways ... >>>

http://news.bbc.co.u...

British airline BMI has apologised after in-flight maps on its London-Tel Aviv service did not identify Israel.

The moving maps marked Islamic holy sites but showed only the city of Haifa in Israel, identified by its Arabic name, Khefa.

Israeli officials accused BMI of trying to "hide the existence of Israel".

But BMI said it was a technical error - the maps had not been changed since the planes were taken over from a former airline which flew to the Middle East.

"If BMI had any political agenda in order not to anger neighbouring countries, it would not have invested so much in the Tel Aviv line," AFP news agency quoted a spokesman as saying.

Sudan leader in Qatar for summit

Sudan leader in Qatar for summit

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir has arrived in Qatar for an Arab summit due to discuss an indictment against him by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

He has already visited Egypt, Eritrea and Libya over the past week to drum up support from his neighbours.

Qatar has not signed the ICC charter, which obliges member states to arrest indictees on their territory, but clerics have urged Mr Bashir not to go.

Libya's leader earlier said the ICC was a "new form of world terrorism".

Muammar Gaddafi, who is also president of the African Union, spoke out against the ICC warrant on a visit to the organisation's headquarters in Ethiopia on Sunday.

It happened again in Cairo

I have watched this tragic news yesterday, and it made me feel very angry and sorry for what happened in my beloved CAIRO.
We are standing together against the violence and criminal actions.

BBC
Tourists hit by Cairo bomb blast
A bomb explosion in Cairo has killed a French tourist and injured more than 20 other people, mostly foreign tourists.

It happened at an open-air hotel cafe packed with tourists in the Khan al-Khalili area - a major attraction and home to a prominent mosque.

The device, most likely home-made, was thrown from a balcony, police said. Initial reports had suggested it had been lobbed from a motorbike.

The tourist killed was identified as a 17-year-old girl by French authorities.

There has been no indication so far of who is behind the attack.
