I received an SMS today from MBT ( I have no clue whats MBT).

Any one else had this, hope its genuine and not another spam!!!

The latest one uses a blend of next generation technology to convince Qatar residents that they've won a European lottery, only to attempt to steal their personal details including bank and credit card numbers.

The scam operates by sending people an SMS message, telling them they've won a grand prize in a European lottery, and providing them with an international number - starting with the digits 00 42 366 - to contact.

Callers who dial the number are put through to an automated voice response, in Arabic, which tells them they will be sent a significant sum of prize money under secure transfer.

Yesterday I recieved one sms from Qtel that read "We would like to inform you that we have now doubled your ADSL speed for free. Enjoy"

Did anyone get this message? Have you seen and speed improvements ?

Yes it has happened. A number of my friends got an SMS form Qtel letting them know that their broadband ADSL connection bandwidth has been doubled. I didn't get the SMS but as soon as I came home I ran the Internet Speed Test and lo and behold, my previously 1 MB connection was now showing the below readings!!!

2MB, woo hoo, now I'll be surfing QL twice as fast :o)
