I am a Filipino, I came to Dubai in a tourist visa and wishes to visit Doha-Qatar on a tourist visa. Can anyone assist me to produce tourist visa there in Qatar? Please email me at nzbdinapo/-a-t-/yahoo.com if you have some suggestions and help. This is urgent for me! Thanks

Has anyone utilized the services of Aramex – Shop and Ship or DHL/Borderlinx. This is the service where they set up a US and UK address for you so that items bought online from Amazon/Ebay/best buy can be shipped to this address and then couriered to Qatar. Generally the cost is arnd QAR 100 registration and then first half kg – QAR 59 and further half kgs /-a-t-/QAR 30.
I’ve bought items from Amazon but shipped it to Dubai and then have an associate get it from Dubai to Qatar. Some items like the Amazon kindle cannot be shipped to Dubai/Qatar.
Thanks

Rogue Employers in Qatar - expatriates beware!
By SeanP on Fri, 19/03/2010 - 7:45pmIt's not uncommon to come across Bangladeshi labourers being exploited and abused in the Middle East but how about Ex-pat project managers out of the UK?
Well it happened to me when I agreed to come to Doha as a project manager for a major international office fit-out company in February.
Essentially I got a 60% salary cut on arrival and the next day was told I'd be expected to work illegally without a work permit - monthly visa runs to Dubai instead. And to top it off no sight of a contract.
When I refused to work under these conditions I was fired - no explanation - no apology and of course NO PAY.
If anyone is interested in knowing who this rogue trader is email me at seanpeet at yahoo.com
I'll be updating my experiences on a regular basis as a warning to others.
Sean

Qatar on the cusp
By Spider Sense on Fri, 19/03/2010 - 3:16pm
A lesser Dubai: That's the first impression a visitor gets touring downtown Doha, the capital of the Gulf emirate of Qatar. Dubai (population 1.4 million) has its famous ultramodern skyline and man-made islands, its wild young rich kids, and—since the real estate boom went bust—plenty of empty office space. Qatar (population 1.5 million) has semi-vacant glass towers and its own artificial island, a handsome Islamic museum designed by I.M. Pei, and young men racing through the streets in Ferraris and Porsches.
Friends,
Could somebody tell me, what are the rules to form a transport company in Qatar, as I am new coming from Dubai.
