we are new in Doha, my son just started guitar lesson in Abu Dhabi and he wants to continue. We are looking for a private teacher who can come home to us or who does not live too far from our place (Al Khain area, near Industrial area).

I have been working in Qatar for 6 Months and have been offered a job in Abu Dhabi is it possible to cancel my existing work permit and move to Abu Dhabi or are there any regulations with prohibit me from doing so, such as the 2 year rule or not being able to work for 6 months between employers.

A laboratory in the UAE has built what it says is the world’s first Arabic-speaking robot which could soon go into mass production to serve as staff in shopping malls.
Ibn Sina, named after the 11th century Islamic philosopher and scientist commonly known in English as Avicenna, was designed by a team at UAE University in the city of Al Ain, which is part of Abu Dhabi emirate.
“It is the world’s first Arabic-speaking conversational humanoid robot,” Nikolaos Mavridis, assistant professor of computer science at the university who led the team, said in an interview.
“He enables us to do research and he is also quite an educational tool because the students love to do projects on him.”

Abu Dhabi is probably tired of Dubai always stealing the thunder as the star of the United Arab Emirates, but that may change with the construction of a F1 spec race track and a Ferrari-based theme park set to open in 2010.

SHEIKH HASSAN CONFIRMS NEW ASSAULT
AT TRANS-GULF SPEED RECORD BID

• Abdullah Al-Sulaiti to partner Sheikh Hassan in Qatar Challenger
• Trans Gulf record planned for end November or early December

DOHA (Qatar): His Excellency Sheikh Hassan bin Jabor Al-Thani has confirmed that he and Class 1 racing colleague Abdullah Al-Sulaiti will attempt to set a new Trans-Gulf speed record for the passage between Abu Dhabi and Qatar.

The new attempt was officially unveiled at a press conference in Doha on Tuesday afternoon and will take place on a date to be confirmed at the end of November or early December.

I been out of Qatar for over 2 months now, calling UK as a home. Found this article in the local paper.
I would like to know, if you dont live or working in Qatar, would you spend your holiday money to come and visiting the country, or you rather go someplace else ?
