Attestation is at Baladiya not anywhre else. If you rent in a big real state company, the company should facilitate or ask your landlord, otherwise you will do it yourself. Search for some topics here in QL to know the requirements.

You have to pay 1% of 1 year total contract value also.

How can Indian Embassy attest a Rental contract?- pm me your email id.. i will send you the documents required for rental contract attestation and its fees charged by municipality. attestation is done at Doha Municipality(which is located in Al Sadd)or at any other municipality based on the location of your villa. Municipality name will be clearly mentioned in Sanathul Mulki (first page).

I myself am fighting this at the same time and it involves alot of paperwork.. it involves the landowner, the proprty owner and the landlord. But mainly the landowner and building owner must have registerd the proprty with the local municipality at one time or another. If not it will cost alot of money... or just impossible to have done.

good luck.. and I hear there is NO way around this.. will be interested if this is and if so a PM would be great to receive.
