HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will participate in the Cairo Summit for Peace on Saturday, to discuss the developments and future of the Palestinian issue and the peace process.
The meeting will be held in Cairo, Egypt. HH The Amir will be accompanied by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, and an official delegation. Sheikh Tamim left for Egypt early on Saturday morning.

Last Monday, Sheikh Tamim received a written message from the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El Sisi, which included a personal invitation to the summit.
Egypt’s Ambassador to Qatar Amr El Sherbiny had delivered the message to HH The Amir during an official visit to Sheikh Tamim’s office at the Amiri Diwan.

The Summit is set to address de-escalating the war in Gaza, pursue a ceasefire, and seek a resolution to the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict via the two-state solution. A long list of dignitaries are expected to attend the Cairo Summit for Peace.
