HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at his office at the Amiri Diwan on Tuesday. Rubio was accompanied by an official delegation of high-ranking officials.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed strategic relations between the countries and ways to strengthen them, particularly in the defense sector.

They also discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest, most notably repercussions of the treacherous Israeli attack on Doha. The meeting also addressed the future of joint diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the release of hostages and prisoners, and de-escalation in the region.

The meeting was also attended by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
