The State of Qatar has officially lifted the summer midday work ban for outdoor workers as of Monday, September 15, 2025.
The Ministry of Labour confirmed that the annual restriction, in effect since June 1, has now ended, allowing normal working hours to resume. Authorities emphasized the importance of maintaining occupational safety and health standards despite the change.
The midday work ban which was implemented to safeguard workers from the extreme summer heat, which was prohibited outdoor activity between 10:00 am and 3:30 pm. It also included a suspension of motorcycle and bicycle delivery services during those hours.
The initiative has played a key role in reducing the risks of heat-related illnesses such as heatstroke and exhaustion.
