Ooredoo Qatar honored for excellence in digital transformation

Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) announced the winners of the Ninth edition of the Qatar Digital Business Award 2025.

Qatar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai honored the winners during a ceremony organized by the MCIT.

Ooredoo Qatar received top honors in the ‘Best Digital Transformation – Corporate’ category. Ooredoo’s Chief Business Officer Thani Al Malki collected the award during the glittering ceremony.

The recognition highlighted Ooredoo’s leadership in driving Qatar’s digital transformation and reaffirms its key role in shaping the country’s digital future.

This year’s edition featured competition across 13 diverse categories, designed to honor the most outstanding innovative achievements and digital solutions in the country.

Apart from Ooredoo, the other awards went to Qatar Charity, Qatar Airways, Wafeeq (Best Digital Experience), Meeza (Best ICT Service Provider), Monaqasat (Best Digital Transformation), Cytomate (Best Startup of the Year), Al Jazeera Media Network, Wasco, BIONL (Best AI Solution), AppLab (Best Scale-Up of the Year), Syntonym (Research and Development Excellence), Digital Petroleum (Best Smart Solution), Malomatia (Best Cybersecurity Solution) and Mohammed Al-Delaimi (Entrepreneur of the Year)

The award continues its journey as a national platform that celebrates digital excellence and innovation, honoring institutions, companies, and individuals who contribute to accelerating the pace of digital transformation in Qatar.

Al Mannai, speaking at the ceremony, said the Qatar Digital Business Award had become a national symbol for celebrating excellence and creativity in technology.

He noted that it forms a pivotal part of the Ministry’s efforts to support innovation and enhance partnerships between the public and private sectors, to create an integrated digital ecosystem that contributes to building a knowledge-based economy.

“The adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and data analytics has become an essential element in accelerating digital transformation across various sectors, thereby enhancing performance efficiency and improving the quality of services provided to the community,” he said.

The ninth edition of the award witnessed strong competition from among companies and institutions. The Ministry received 341 submissions from companies representing various vital sectors in the country.

All submissions underwent a rigorous four-stage evaluation process overseen by an independent jury of 35 experts and specialists in technology and entrepreneurship.

During the evaluation stages, five candidates from each category were selected to present their projects to the jury, with 40 projects qualifying for the final stage before the winners were announced across the 13 categories covering various areas of the digital sector.
