Qatar Charity (QC), in coordination with the Qatari Embassy in Damascus and supported by its donors, distributed 500 essential food packages to displaced families from Syria’s Suwayda governorate currently residing in rural areas of Daraa.
The humanitarian effort underscores Qatar’s ongoing commitment to alleviating the hardships faced by the Syrian people during times of crisis.

Each package, weighing 64kg, contained vital food items sufficient to sustain a family for one month. The initiative aims to meet the basic needs of displaced families, strengthen food security, and ease the burden of daily living.
Khalifa bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chargé d’Affaires of Qatar’s Embassy in Syria, said: “This initiative reflects Qatar’s steadfast commitment to supporting Syrians and alleviating their humanitarian suffering during these difficult times, consistent with its principles of relief and charitable work.”
The aid forms part of Qatar Charity’s broader humanitarian efforts in southern Syria, executed in collaboration with local and international partners.

Earlier this month, a convoy carrying emergency humanitarian supplies crossed the Nasib border between Syria and Jordan. This joint initiative, led by Qatar through the Qatar Fund for Development and Qatar Charity, in cooperation with Jordan, was coordinated directly with the Syrian government and the Qatari Embassy in Damascus.
The convoy comprised essential food supplies, flour, and medical materials designed to unburden and support vulnerable populations in the conflict-affected regions of southern Syria.
