Qatar’s Ministry of Transport has announced full resumption of maritime navigation activities for pleasure crafts, tourism, fishing, and other marine operations.
In a social media post, the ministry urged vessel owners and sea-goers to prioritise safety by ensuring that all necessary navigation and safety devices are checked and functioning properly before and during sailing, to guarantee a safe and secure trip.
Maritime navigation activities were suspended on October 4 due to a technical fault in the GPS system that affected the accuracy of navigation devices. On October 6, it announced partial resumption, allowing vessels to operate within 12 nautical miles of the coast and requiring them to return before sunset.
