Qatar ranked first in the Arab world, the Middle East, and North Africa, and 18th globally in the mid-2025 Healthcare Index, issued by the database encyclopedia Numbeo.
Qatar’s 18th-place rank in the index confirms the country’s high level of its healthcare sector, which is constantly evolving, driven by innovation and the use of the latest globally available means, in alignment with the Third National Development Strategy.

Qatar scored 73.5 points in the Health Care Index and 133.8 points in the Healthcare Expenditure Index to finish in overall 18th place.
While the UAE finished overall 30th (70.7 and 130.1), Oman, ranked 52nd, was next among GCC countries (63.3 and 112.7). Saudi Arabia (55th, 61.9 and 110.4) and Kuwait (67th, 58.4 and 104.2) followed in that order. Taiwan (87 and 160.1), South Korea (82.8 and 151.6), Netherlands (80.6 and 147.6) topped the tables.
Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health said it was committed to ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in healthcare services in the country, striving to enhance the quality of healthcare and ensure patient safety.
