Qatar has been the target of a severe and treacherous attack by Israeli occupation forces, which Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani described as ‘state terrorism.’
The attack targeted the headquarters of the political bureau of Hamas amid ongoing peace negotiations.
Speaking at a Press conference, the Prime Minister condemned the Israeli assault on Qatari soil as an act of state terrorism, attributed to Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu’s ‘systematic policies and continuous attempts to destabilize regional security and stability.’
He warned this was a message to the entire region, highlighting a ‘rogue actor engaging in ongoing political recklessness and violations of state sovereignty.’
“Netanyahu himself has declared that he will reshape the Middle East. Is this message also a declaration that he intends to reshape the Gulf?” said Sheikh Mohammed.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasized Qatar’s firm stance
“Qatar affirms that it will not tolerate any infringement upon its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and it will respond firmly to any reckless breach or assault that threatens its security and undermines regional stability. The State reserves the right to retaliate against this blatant attack and will take all necessary measures in response,” he said.
The attack occurred at 3.46pm Doha time. Immediately after the incident, under the direction of HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar’s security services, civil defense, and other authorities took swift action to manage the situation.
Casualties were confirmed, including the loss of Internal Security Force official Lance Corporal Badr Saad Al Dosari, who was martyred in the line of duty. The Prime Minister extended condolences to the families of all victims.
Highlighting the priority given to the safety of citizens and residents, he stated: “Starting tomorrow, a comprehensive review of policies and procedures will begin to ensure such acts are deterred and not repeated.”
Qatar has also formed a legal team, led by HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to pursue all legal actions in response to what the Prime Minister called a ‘rogue act.’
“We believe we have now reached a decisive moment requiring the entire region to respond to such barbaric behavior, which reflects nothing but the savagery of this man (Netanyahu), who is dragging the region to a level, unfortunately, beyond repair, disregarding international systems, frameworks, and laws.”
