Qatar’s Foreign Ministry has condemned the Iranian missile attack on USA’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

“We express strong condemnation of the attack by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps on the Al Udeid Air Base. We consider it a flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace, as well as of international law and the United Nations Charter. We affirm that Qatar reserves the right to respond directly, proportionate to the nature and scale of this blatant aggression and in accordance with international law,” said a statement from the Ministry.

“We are reassured that Qatari air defenses thwarted the attack and successfully intercepted the Iranian missiles. A statement clarifying the circumstances of the attack will be issued later by the Ministry of Defense. We also affirm that the continuation of such escalatory military actions will undermine security and stability in the region and lead to catastrophic consequences for international peace and security.

“We call for an immediate cessation of all military actions and a serious return to the negotiating table and dialogue. We emphasize that Qatar was among the first countries to warn of the consequences of Israeli escalation in the region, calling for the priority of diplomatic solutions, and adhering to the principle of good neighborliness and non-escalation, emphasizing that dialogue is the only way to overcome current crises and preserve the security of the region and the peace of its people.

“The base had been evacuated earlier in accordance with approved security and precautionary measures, given the tensions in the region. All measures were taken to ensure the safety of personnel at the base, including members of the Qatari Armed Forces, friendly forces, and others. We confirm that no injuries or human losses occurred as a result of the attack,” the statement read.

Meanwhile, The Iranian Supreme National Security Council said the missile strike against Al Udeid Air Base was away from residential areas in Qatar.

“This action does not pose any threat to the friendly and brotherly country, Qatar, and its noble people, and the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to maintaining and continuing warm and historic relations with Qatar,” the council said in a statement.
