US President Donald Trump praised Qatar’s mediation efforts to end the war in Gaza. He also heaped praises on HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
“Qatar was a tremendous help to getting this done. I hope people can realize that. Their leader, HH The Amir, was very brave. Qatar should start getting some credit. I think Qatar was amazing the way they helped us,”he said, while talking to journalists aboard the Air Force One.
In a separate statement, Trump said the war in Gaza has ended and that numerous guarantees have been provided to ensure the ceasefire holds.
He said Hamas may release some of its prisoners earlier than the date stipulated in the agreement between the movement and Israel.
He pointed out that the new administration in the Gaza Strip would begin its work very quickly. He also expressed his desire to visit the Strip.
