WATCH: Thousands of Qatar residents attend solidarity stand held in support of Palestine

Thousands of people belonging to different nationalities gathered yesterday in the Imam Muhammad bin Abdulwahhab Mosque square to express solidarity with the Palestinian people against Israeli aggression. 

The solidarity rally which was called by the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS) was attended by prominent figures, citizens, and residents including a large number of Palestinians living in Qatar.

The participants at the pro-Palestine demonstration were seen waving the flags of Palestine, Qatar, and their respective countries. They chanted slogans stressing their full support for the people of Palestine and their love and readiness to sacrifice for Al Aqsa Mosque. 

Head of the Political Bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Dr Ismail Haniyeh; Secretary-General of IUMS, Dr Sheikh Ali Mohieddin Al Qaradaghi; Ambassador of Palestine to Qatar, H E Munir Abdullah Ghannam; Ambassador of Turkey to Qatar, H E Dr Mustafa Göksu; and Sheikh Suhaim bin Ahmad bin Sultan bin Jassem Al Thani attended the event.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Ismail Haniyeh praised HH the Amir, the Qatari government and the people for their support for Palestinians.
