Qatar's national color is Pantone 1955 C (not maroon)

Technically speaking, Qatar's national color is not exactly Maroon. It is commonly known as Qatar Red or Qatar Maroon among color specialists.

The exact shade of the Qatari color is Pantone 1955 C. It used to be Pantone 222 C until the government further defined the color of the national flag as Pantone 1955 C. Pantone is a system for matching colors, commonly used in specifying printing inks.

The Qatari flag was defined in 1949 as being "Qatar Maroon" - this being an official confirmation of the (previously unofficial) effect of strong sunlight on the local red dyes.

It is quite hard to digitally replicate the exact shade of Pantone 1955 C. The challenge is due to the fact that colors appear differently on different screens.

If you would like to replicate or color correct Qatar's Maroon on Photoshop use the following Hex code and corresponding RGB code.

HEX: #8D1B3D  R105 G26 B64

The color outcome may vary on different screens.
