Passage To India 2024 set to delight Doha with cultural extravaganza

The Embassy of India, in collaboration with the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), is gearing up for the highly anticipated "Passage To India 2024" festival, scheduled from March 7 to 9 at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park in Doha.

The event is free and open to all and is a unique opportunity for all expatriates and local attendees to immerse themselves in a plethora of cultural offerings at MIA Park and experience everything from Indian traditional handicrafts and exquisite jewelry to tantalizing Indian delicacies.

Themed around the vibrant cultural exchange between Qatar and India, this year's event holds special significance as it commemorates the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Promising a captivating showcase of Indian cultural diversity and modern achievements, the festival aims to strengthen Indo-Qatar ties and boost friendships between expatriates. This cultural extravaganza will showcase the rich Indian culture and art forms at the prestigious MIA Park.

Stalls displaying various items like handicrafts, clothes, jewelry, etc. depicting a variety of Indian culture will be there along with food stalls operated by licensed vendors in Doha, serving various Indian delicacies.

The festival will feature a captivating photography exhibition, showcases the work of 100 Indian photographers from Qatar. The event will also stage an enthralling performance by the ICCR sponsored Qawwali Troupe from India, a Mega Thiruvathira, a traditional group dance form, Mega “Raas Dandiya” (Garba), Dog Show by Dog Squad (MoI), Live Musical Show and Chenda Melam.

Finalist of India’s Got Talent season 3, Speed Painter Vilas Nayak will also perform a live speed painting during the event.

In a gesture of gratitude, the event will honor 40 long-term Indian residents in Qatar, recognizing their enduring contributions to the community. Free shuttle services will be provided to ensure easy access to the venue, with entry open to all.

With the support of various socio-cultural organizations and esteemed dignitaries including HE Mr. Vipul, Ambassador of India to Qatar, the festival promises to be a memorable celebration of cultural unity and friendship between India and Qatar. "Passage To India" has evolved into a signature event, blending Indian heritage with Qatari traditions, symbolizing the enduring bond between the two nations.
