In this edition of our Prominent People in Qatar series, we shine a spotlight on one of Qatar’s most accomplished sportsman, who is highly admired and well-respected not just in the country but also across the globe.

A multi-talented personality, 48-year-old Nasser Al Attiyah is a Qatari rally driver, hailed as the Pride of Qatar.

He is a three-time winner of the prestigious Dakar Rally, in 2011, 2016 and 2019, respectively.

The racing legend has clinched several significant rally titles, and recently along with co-driver Mathier Baumel took the leading spot at the 5000-kilometer Silk Way Rally.

Earlier this year, Al Attiyah also secured the 14th Qatar Rally title and remains a 13-time Middle East Rally Champion.

Renowned for his go-getter spirit and determination, Al Attiyah has also contested in several Olympic Games as a skeet shooter.

He brought home a bronze medal for his super performance at the men’s skeet event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

There’s no doubt that Al Attiyah is a sporting star who continues to be an inspiration to young sportsmen in the country and beyond!

With his unflinching dedication and self-motivation, there’s no stopping the Qatari racer as he accelerates ahead to claim more victories.
