WATCH: Tradition meets modernity with dhow cruises in Qatar
Post Image

Dhows are the traditional sailing vessels used historically by Arab sailors. They are a big part of Qatari culture and heritage, connected to fishing, pearl diving and trade.

Today, the art of building a dhow is well-preserved in Qatar, and many are equipped with the comfort of today's technology.

A dhow cruise is now a popular tourist attraction. These cruises are very popular in Qatar for family gatherings, relaxation or just to enjoy the view of the skyline.

Dhows can be spotted along Doha Corniche and in the fishing harbors of Al Khor and Al Wakra.
The architecture of the dhow may vary depending on its purpose.

You can book a private tour on large boats to enjoy a barbeque, swimming and fishing.

Some of the dhow cruises also offer fine dining experiences. Winter is the peak time for dhow cruising in Doha, so don't hesitate to give it a try if you haven't yet!
