Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive and Chairman of Qatar Tourism, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, said, “As one of the most significant events in our annual calendar, Shop Qatar brings the best fashion, entertainment and retail offerings to the country. With the collaborative efforts of Qatar Tourism and our stakeholders, we look forward to resuming our festivals, while adhering to all strict protocols.

“This year’s Shop Qatar contains unmatched offers and experiences, with social distancing measures at all events and malls, in addition to successfully obtaining the Qatar Clean certification which is required for each participating hotel and restaurant. A key initiative by Qatar Tourism and Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), this initiative facilitates the return of in-person events, while maintaining health and safety.”

HE Al Baker continued, “Qatar Tourism continues to work closely with partners in the retail and hospitality sectors to develop more diverse festivals and events appealing to newer market segments, to encourage a boost in retail activity within the country. As such, we are eager to resume our vibrant events calendar, with a host of exciting initiatives coming up.”

Aligned with Qatar Tourism’s strategy to promote the country as a destination and showcase its diverse and affordable offerings across retail, entertainment and culture, Shop Qatar 2021 is also expected to bring a boost for local businesses and the domestic economy.

After challenging times brought about by the pandemic, the return of the country’s biggest shopping festival will provide a platform for local businesses and stakeholders to drive footfall and promote their products and services.

Retail partners include: Al Khor Mall, City Center Mall, Doha Festival City, Ezdan Mall Al Gharrafa, Ezdan Mall Al Wakrah, Galleria Mall, Gulf Mall, Hyatt Plaza, Lagoona Mall, Landmark Mall, Mall of Qatar, The Gate Mall, The Pearl, Villaggio Mall, and Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport.
