The Qatar Amiri Guard recently finished a joint exercise with the Jordanian Special Royal Guard called the “Striking Force”. This was overseen in the presence of His Excellency Commander of the Amiri Guard Staff Lieutenant-General Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani at the Lahsaniya camp. The exercise concluded on Wednesday, January 19, and was attended by many important dignitaries and senior members of the Amiri Guard.
The attendees included Inspector General of the Jordanian Armed Forces Brigadier-General Sedqi Abdul Salem Al Rawashdeh; Inspector General of the Qatari Ministry of Defense Staff Major-General Rashid bin Nasser Al Fhaid Al Hajri; the Inspector General of the Amiri Guard, Commander of the Jordanian Special Royal Guard Colonel Hamad Suleiman Al Jaafra; assistants to the Commander of the Amiri Guard; and the Jordanian military attache to the State of Qatar.
The Striking Force exercise is a symbol of shared relations between the two brotherly nations of the State of Qatar and Jordan, according to a quote by Colonel Jassim Abdullah Al Muraiziq, the Assistant Commander of the Amiri Guard for Operations and Training. The training intended to provide trainees of both the nations’ guards with combat experience and an opportunity to build lasting relations between participants.
The exercise is crucial to the framework of the security preparations in the build-up to FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, as the training will lend the trainees to be highly efficient and ready for any security threats.
The final presentation of the exercise included applying a different set of scenarios and hypotheses; shooting exercises on moving and fixed targets; mobile protection units; rapid intervention; sniper shooting; personal protection; and finally ground and air medical evacuation methods. The trainees demonstrated great combat readiness and efficiency in applying approved methods by exhibiting their individual and combined capacities in the exercises.
